Austin’s isn’t the only market on the rise! The entire state of Texas is seeing numbers higher than ever before.

The second quarter of 2016 proved that Texas is a sought after market, and the place to buy and sell. The statewide median home price increased to $215,000, which is up 7.5% from the second quarter of 2015. In addition, the number of closed sales increased by 4.4%, and the number of active listings went up by 4.1, all compared to the second quarter of 201.

Take it from Leslie Rouda Smith, chairman of the Texas Association of REALTORS®, who recently said, “The last few months have been one of the strongest starts to the summer selling season in the history of Texas real estate. Texas homes of all types and price classes are in high demand. This is especially true for homes priced under $200,000, which are often preferred by first-time homebuyers but also in shortest supply across the state.”
